Have you ever wondered how a Golf Pro would play the course?
Here's a pro's approach to playing Panther Trail in The Woodlands. Hopefully these tips will help you improve your game and shave a few points off your score! Good Luck!

A chance to gamble right from the start! A simple fairway metal or hybrid from the tee affords a generous landing area and a short second. The stout hearted may elect to take the big stick out for a chance at the green, but remember…it’s a blind shot and you can’t miss it to the left. |

What you see is what you get. This straight away par four is well defined. Go ahead and get the driver out of the bag and fire away. A mid length to short iron second should be the norm for most players. |
| 3 |
Anything in the short grass and between the bunkers will suffice off of the tee on this dogleg left par four. It’s all about the second shot and positioning the ball on the correct side of the green. Pay attention to the pin location. |

Six hundred yards from the back tee, this is definitely a three shot hole (sorry Tiger). Avoid the fairway bunker on the right hand side off of the tee, and then hit plenty of club on the second. A well played third can make for a legitimate birdie opportunity on this very small green. |
| 5 |
Anything between the two front bunkers will work on this first par three of the day. The tendency is to come up short, so take enough club to get there. |
| 6 |
One of the best holes in The Woodlands. This dogleg right par four requires a well positioned drive, then a delicate second to the well protected green. A par is always welcome on this beauty. |
| 7 |
Welcome to the toughest par three on the golf course! It’s all about distance and keeping the ball in the air to carry both the creek and the severe upslope protecting the front of the green. It’s uphill, so take an extra club off of the tee. |

Birdie or Bogey??? Both are abundant on this somewhat reachable par four. At just 322 from the tips, it’s tempting to fire away. A mis-hit however can lead to an over par score on a hole that can yield a birdie with just a well positioned tee shot and a short second. |
| 9 |
How about a birdie to complete the front nine? It’s there for the taking on this medium length par five. Favor the left side of the fairway on your second shot to avoid the water, and then take dead aim to give yourself that birdie opportunity. |

A little breathing room as you make the turn for home. At just 380 from the tips, this short par four offers ample room off of the tee and a chance to start low with a well placed second. |
| 11 |
This mid-length par three pretty well lays out right in front of you. The premium here is accuracy, as a miss either left or right doesn’t leave much green to work with. |
| 12 |
One of the best holes on the course, this delightful par four requires two solid and well placed shots to garner a birdie opportunity. Favor the right side of the fairway off of the tee, and take note of the pin location on this very tricky green. |

Have some fun on this one. Anything from hybrid to driver off of the tee leaves a relatively short second. Do not hit anything to the left and you may walk away with a red number on this one. |
| 14 |
Plenty of length here, and only the really long hitters need to think of an eagle putt. Most players will want to go with driver from the tee, and something favoring the right side of the fairway on the second. Again, be aware of this unique green and take a second look at the pin sheet. |

Considered my many to be the toughest hole on the course, this par four stretches to 430 yards and requires two excellent shots for a chance to roll it for a birdie. Favor the left side of the short grass from the tee and make certain to take a little extra club on the second. Typically plays longer than it looks. |

Welcome to the toughest par three on the golf course! It’s all about distance and keeping the ball in the air to carry both the creek and the severe upslope protecting the front of the green. It’s uphill, so take an extra club off of the tee. |

Take dead aim here, but make sure to grab enough club. This short par three features a very large greens complex, but is well protected short and left. With enough club in your hands, go straight at the flag no matter where it is. |

The signature hole of the Panther Trail layout, this one will always make for an exciting conclusion to your day on the links. Normally into the wind, there is plenty of room from the tee, but the fun really starts with the second. Bottom line is that there is no room for error on this virtual island green. If in doubt, lay up in two and take your chances for a great up and down par. |
